What news we have?! I am not sure of the whole story, but it seems we should be "cautiously optimistic" again.
PET Scan was Monday the 23rd. Dr. Bastasch called Mom and Dad himself and said "Time for a celebration!" It seems that according to the scan there is no NEW uptake (indication of tumor) The thyroid and kidney areas of uptake seemed the same as they were before. And the main tumor we were treating in the umbilical area seems to be responding to the radiation/chemo combo. (No thanks to insurance--just had to add that since dad had to pay for the Xeloda himself)
Mom and Dad will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary this Saturday!!! How wonderful is that? What a milestone, what an accomplishment.
Thank you for all of your continued support and prayers. Obviously the Lord is using Dad as an example of how He can heal through faith and show everyone to believe! God Bless you all.
